Blackwell, Jennings Top-10 at PGA Minority Championships

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Ball State men's golfers James Blackwell and Albert Jennings posted top-10 finishes Sunday in the men's individual invitational at the PGA Minority Collegiate Championships.
Blackwell closed with a final-round 79 (+7) to finish with a 54-hole total of 234 on the Wanamaker Course at PGA Golf Club. He remained in fifth place.
Jennings carded a 77 Sunday, highlighted by three straight birdies to begin his round. He moved up three spots to finish in eighth place with a total of 239.
Palm Beach Atlantic's Siyan Liu came from behind with a final-round 71 to win by two strokes with a 54-hole score of 225 (+9).
The PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship was first contested in 1987. PGA Golf Club has hosted the event since 1998, and the PGA of America was granted complete ownership and management of the tournament by the National Minority College Golf Scholarship Fund in 2006.
This week's event featured more than 160 men and women from nearly 40 schools in both team and individual divisions.
An hour-long highlight show featuring action from the championship will air June 29 (8 p.m.) on Golf Channel and will re-air July 5 (2 p.m.) and Aug. 23 (2 p.m.).
