MBB Signee Kyle Mallers Named Indiana All-Star
April 12, 2016 | Men's Basketball
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Incoming Ball State men's basketball player Kyle Mallers was named to the IndyStar Indiana All-Stars, it was announced Tuesday. Mallers signed with the Cardinals in November.
A versatile 6-foot-7 standout from Fort Wayne Carroll High School, Mallers averaged 14.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per game this season while helping the Chargers to a sectional championship.
Mallers was one of the core six members of the Indiana Junior All-Stars a year ago. He finished his Carroll career as the school's all-time leader in 3-pointers.
Mallers will join four former Indiana All-Stars on the roster at Ball State: Tayler Persons (2014), Sean Sellers (2014), Jeremie Tyler (2014) and Tahjai Teague (2015). It will be the first time the Cardinals have ever had five All-Stars on the roster.
A total of 13 seniors from across the state were named Indiana All-Stars. The list also includes Desmond Bane (Seton Catholic), Tucker Blackwell (Bloomington South), Joey Brunk (Southport), Grant Gelon (Crown Point), Eugene German (Gary 21st Century), Eron Gordon (Cathedral), Kyle Guy (Lawrence Central), Brachen Hazen (Columbia City), Damien Jefferson (East Chicago Central), Tremell Murphy (Griffith), Dru Smith (Evansville Reitz) and C.J. Walker (Arsenal Tech).
The Indiana All-Stars will play two games against the Kentucky All-Stars: June 11 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis and June 12 at Bellarmine University in Louisville. The team will play exhibition games against the Indiana Junior All-Stars on June 7 and June 9.
