
Men's Tennis Defeats Butler At Home Saturday, 5-2

The Cardinals took the early 1-0 lead over Butler after winning two of the three doubles matches. On the top court, the Ball State twosome of Lucas Andersen and Andrew Stutz defeated the Bulldogs Mikheil Khmiadashvil and Mason Dragos by a score of 6-4. Patrick Downs alongside doubles partner Matt Helm clinched the point for Ball State after their 6-4 victory over Spencer Lang and Adrian Mag on court three.
Ball State carried its momentum into singles play taking four of the six matches from Butler. Conner Andersen gave the Cardinals the 2-0 advantage after posting a 7-5, 6-3 win over Ari Gerstein at the No. 3 position. Stutz followed with a three set victory on court two to increase the Cardinals lead to 3-0. Lucas Andersen would then clinch the match on the top court after beating Khmiadashvil in a three set thriller. Nemanja Guzina rounded out the wins for the Cardinals with his three set victory over Alex Woldmoe at the No. 4 slot.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues spring action when it plays Tennessee Tech Friday in Cookeville, Tenn.
