All-Access: Weber's Fire Igniting Cards
February 05, 2016 | Men's Basketball
Ryan Weber doesn't lose. His freshman season at Youngstown State the Penguins advanced to the second round of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament. His sophomore season Weber scored 12ppg en route to a 15-win year. Then he transfered.
Weber took a gamble on a five-win Ball State basketball team and, in fairness, the Cardinals took a gamble on him; a dynamic scorer without a history of playing defense.
Two years later that gamble has paid off for both sides. After sitting out last season, Weber leads the Cardinals in scoring and plays hard on the other end, moreso than ever before in his career. He may also be one of the team's more firey personalities, igniting the teams hustle and will to win. The Cardinals, in turn, have already doubled last season's win total at 14-8 (5-4).
Ball State All-Access sat down with Weber in this feature to discuss his impact on and off the floor.
The Cardinals are next in action Saturday, hosting Western Michigan at 2pm. Tickets are available by calling 888-BSU-TICKET or by browsing on BallStateSports.com.
