
Men's Tennis Sweeps First Two Matches Of The Weekend

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team went 2-0 in the Cardinals' first two matches of the weekend. The Cardinals swept both of Friday's competitions going 7-0 against IU Southeast and Taylor University.
With the two victories, Ball State now owns a 4-4 record in dual action this season.
Ball State captured the doubles point in both matches; winning on two of the three courts in its first match over IU Southeast and took all three from Taylor.
In singles action, the Cardinals took all 12 singles matches in straight sets. Against IU Southeast, Nemanji Guzina was the first match off the court winning at No. 3 singles by a score of 6-0, 6-1 over Trent Wallace. Andrew Stutz then increased the Cardinals lead to 3-0 after his 6-0, 6-2 defeat over Jon James at the No. 2 position. Matt Helm then clinched the match with his 6-0, 6-2 victory on court six over Chris Braun.
Against Taylor, Ball State continued its strong singles play taking all six matches from Trojans. Lucas Andersen and Stutz each finished the day 2-0 on the top two courts. Andersen defeated Taylor's Juan Ramirez at the No. 1 position, 6-3, 6-3. Stutz ended the day with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Stephen All.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues its three-match home stand when it hosts Cleveland State Sunday, at 1 p.m. in the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
