A Look at the Cardinals
• Ball State will look to get back to its winning ways Tuesday at Bowling Green. The Cardinals are coming off back-to-back losses for only the second time this season. They have not lost three games is a row all season.
• Ball State has been balanced offensively all season but especially in Mid-American Conference play. Five players are averaging between nine and 12 points per game in league action, led by Ryan Weber at 11.9.
• Ball State sits at No. 167 out of 351 Division I teams in the Ken Pomeroy rankings. The Cardinals have been as high as No. 144 this season, marking their highest rating since January 2012. BSU has only finished a season better than its current ranking once in the past decade (No. 166 in 2011).
• The Cardinals have made major strides in year three under head coach James Whitford. They have already surpassed their win total from the previous two years combined (12) and matched their league win total from that span (four).
• Ball State has shot at least 37 percent from the 3-point line in seven of its eight MAC games. During that stretch, the Cardinals have climbed from outside the top 100 nationally in 3-point shooting percentage to No. 60 at 37.5 percent for the year.
• The Cardinals rank as the top assist team in the MAC with 16.1 per game during conference play. BSU has assisted on 65.8 percent (129 of 196) of its made field goals in league action.
Rebounding Telling the Story
• Ball State has outrebounded 14 of its 21 opponents this season.
• The Cardinals are 12-2 when they have more rebounds than their opponent and 1-6 when they have fewer.
• Ball State has been outrebounded in three of the past four games and has lost all three.
Tyler Picking it Up
• Sophomore guard Jeremie Tyler, coming off a season-high 18-point performance versus Akron, has picked up his offensive production during conference play.
• Tyler's 10.8 points-per-game average in league play is more than four points higher than his non-conference average (6.4).
