Cardinal Notes:
• Ball State opens Mid-American Conference action Saturday against West Division rival Toledo in Savage Arena with a Noon tipoff which will be streamed live on ESPN3.
• Saturday's game against Toledo will mark the 76th time in program history the two schools have met with the Rockets leading the all-time series, 46-29. The Cardinals opened up league play at home against the Rockets last season winning that game by a score of 75-69 in Worthen Arena on Jan. 2 and then closed the season at Toledo winning that contest, 68-58 on March 5. The Cardinals have swept the regular season series two years in a row when facing the Rockets.
• Toledo owns a 9-2 record and closed out non-conference play with a 72-66 win over Detroit Mercy on Dec. 21. The Rockets only two losses came against UCLA (75-73) and Notre Dame (85-68). Ball State brings a 7-5 non-conference ledger to Savage Arena and is coming off of a 93-49 home victory over Urbana.
• Senior guard Jill Morrison became 25th member of the Ball State women's basketball 1,000-point club after tallying 15 points on the night against Urbana on Dec. 28. Morrison now has 1,002 career points. Morrison also becomes the fourth player to reach that milestone under the direction of fifth-year Ball State women's basketball head coach Brady Sallee. Previous players were Nathalie Fontaine, Brandy Woody, and Shelbie Justice.
• Sophomore Carmen Grande has dished out 87 total assists so far this season, she is averaging 8.0 assists per game which ranks second nationally. Grande registered a career-high 13 assists this season against North Carolina A&T (11/23) and Chicago State (12/1). Grande has also been more efficient lately with turnovers only committing eight combined over the last three games which is her best three game stretch of the season.
