Women's Tennis Finishes Strong At Cincinnati Invite

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Ball State women's tennis team ended its competition at the Cincinnati Fall Invitational Saturday afternoon after facing the Bearcats in doubles and then competed in singles action against Xavier and Dayton.
 The Cardinals took two of the three doubles matches from host Cincinnati.  Audrey Berger teammed up with Julia Sbircea in a 6-3 victory over the Bearcats Harley Hutchinson and Caroline Morton.  Ball State's second doubles tandem to win was Rosalinda Caleron and Rebecca Harrington, the twosome took down Cincinnati's Katya Bure and Anna Philp, 7-5.
 Ball State then faced Xavier and Dayton in singles action, winning eight total matches against the Musketeers and the Flyers.  Against xavier, Isabelle Dohanics, Berger, Toni Ormond and Rebecca Herrington each earned two set tie breaking wins over their respective opponents.  After competing against Xavier, the Cardinals faced Dayton University where they would take four matches from the Flyers.  Berger, Ormond, Koscielski and Herrington all earned straight set victories against their opponents.  Both Ormond and Herrington each won a set (6-0) without giving a game to their competition.
 The Ball State women's tennis team continues fall play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regionals on Thursday, Oct. 20 in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
