Bio
2017-18 (Senior): Saw limited playing time in both singles and doubles.
2016-17 (Junior): Finished the season with an overall record of 10-6 while going 1-0 on courts four and five and 3-0 at No. 6 singles . . . had much success with doubles partner Audrey Berger after posting a 16-6 overall ledger . . . in doubles play Sbircea earned Mid-American Conference victories over Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Toledo and Miami . . . helped the Cardinals win back-to-back MAC regular season titles for the first time in program history.2015-16 (Sophomore): Compiled a 17-16 overall record while going 5-2 in singles play during Mid-American Conference action . . . won six of her last nine matches to close out the season . . . played mainly at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions . . . closed out league action with five straight wins . . . helped Ball State earn their first-ever berth in the NCAA Championships . . . the Cardinals also made history last season after earning their first MAC regular season title and the most wins, 22, in Ball State women’s tennis history.
NORTH FLORIDA: Sbircea, transferred to Ball State from the University of North Florida. In 2015, she was a member of the UNF squad which won the Atlantic Sun Conference. In her lone season with North Florida, Sbircea went 8-5 in singles play.
HIGH SCHOOL: During her United States Tennis Association junior career, Sbircea earned second place in the 18's singles 2013 USTA North Miami Designated Tournament. In addition, she was a member of the 2013 Florida 18's advanced team, which finished fifth nationally.
PERSONAL: A native of Boca Raton, Fla., Sbircea attended West Boca High School. She is the daughter of Hildegard and Julian Sbircea. Julia plans to major in sports administration at Ball State.
