It?was a great day. We got to relax until the game. After getting burnt on the island, it was much needed. I was excited for the game and especially since we knew it was going to be tough competition.?
The game went well, and we got to get more people playing time. Trey Moses showed why we want him here and played really big minutes. He, out of everything, was what stood out to me about the game, along with everything we have been working on.?
It was good to finish 2-0 to top off a fun and successful trip.

So today we went to a private island about 25-30 minutes away. On our way, we saw houses owned by Tiger Woods, Christina Aguilera, Chuck Norris and Michael Jordan and a beach owned by Jay Z and Beyonc?. Once we got there, we were able to snorkel, play volleyball, or just relax by or in the ocean. For a lot of people, this was their first time snorkeling.
For us who snorkeled, it was great team bonding activity. We went into deep waters together, seeing big fish and the coral reefs. Today really brought us together as a team. We had a lot of fun together off the court after taking care of business as a team on the court the day before.
The boat ride there and back was also a great experience. The three guys who operated the trip treated us as one big family. They showed us all around, made us lunch and supplied punch (non-alcoholic). The three guys were three of the coolest I've met.

Well, to start to the day off we all had a wonderful breakfast in our hotel. They served some delicious food to us and it really hit the spot. But that was just the beginning to a fun, busy day. After breakfast a couple of teammates and I went back to bed for a couple hours because we knew that we needed some rest.? When I woke up, we got ready and went down to the beach for a walk.
The beach was a beautiful site. It was kids playing in the ocean and a lot of people enjoying the scenery just like us. After going to the beach we headed to the water park and went on some of the slides. The best slide yet was the Abyss! Probably the scariest slide I've ever been on, hands down. It was a big drop but you couldn't see anything. I could feel myself coming off the slide and just falling.
After the water park, we headed back to our rooms to get ready for our game. Overall the game went well, we ended up winning by 20, and the best moment was when our freshman Trey Moses scored his first career points. The whole team jumped to the sky screaming. Overall the day was a successful, fun business day.

Tuesday was the first full day for the Ball State basketball team in Atlantis. After an amazing breakfast buffet, we suited up for our first practice. Loading the buses to go to the gym where we would be playing, we were able to see the parts of Nassau as well as a bit of the Bahamian culture. Once the team arrived at Kendal G. L. Isaacs National Gymnasium, we wasted no time and went right to work. We had a great morning practice. The energy and excitement not only for the day's practice but tomorrow's game was felt throughout the gym.
After practice, we stopped for lunch. Once the team returned to the island, the team put on swim trunks and applied sunscreen, some more than others, and hit the beach, waterslides, and/or lazy river. Whether it was going down the Leap of Faith or the Abyss, the team was conquering fears and having a great time doing it.
In the evening, the team enjoyed the buffet in the Royal Tower. Some of the players were hoping that this meal would help them gain the weight that they desire.
All in all the team had a great first full day in the Bahamas. We are excited to hit the park again tomorrow, but we are more excited to hit the court. Tomorrow's game will give us a chance to compete against someone other than ourselves.

Today was mainly a travel day for us. We departed Muncie at 6:15 a.m. to head to the Indianapolis airport. The first flight from Indy to Atlanta only took about an hour, and then our flight from Atlanta to Nassau took a little over two hours. So overall our flight wasn't too bad at all.
Once we got to the Atlantis Resort, all of us broke up into smaller groups and we went to either the water park connected to the resort, the marina village, the beach, or to check out the casino. The resort itself is pretty cool because it has different areas with sea turtles, different types of salt-water fish, stingrays, and even sharks. Our night ended with us going up to our rooms to get a good night's rest for practice on Tuesday to prepare for our first game on Wednesday.
I'm excited to experience the water slides tomorrow with some of the guys, but I'm even more excited to see what our team will look like in our first game!
Keep checking back all week as more players give you a look inside the team's stay in The Bahamas.?
