Women?s Golf Wraps up Rio Verde Invitational

RIO VERDE, Ariz. -- Kelsey Sear fired a 76 to lead the Ball State women's golf team Sunday in the final round of the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational.
The Cardinals closed with a team score of 317 to finish in 16th place with a 54-hole total of 943.
Seton Hall polished off a wire-to-wire victory, winning by four shots with a three-round score of 896 (+32). Toledo and Northern Arizona tied for second.
Seton Hall teammates Alison Kruse and Erin McClure tied for first place at 218 (+2). McClure went on to defeat her teammate in a playoff.
In addition to Sear's 76, Ball State also counted a 77 from Allison Lindley and a pair of 82s in the final round.
Lindley finished as the top Cardinal on the leaderboard in a tie for 43rd at 232. Mary Ellen Romero, competing as an individual, was next in a tie for 54th at 234. Sear finished with a score of 236, Jenna Hague 238, Karley Dobis 239 and Meghan McDougall 244.
Ball State will return to action March 22-24 in Dunnelon, Fla., at the Ocala Spring Invitational. The event, hosted by Morehead State, will be played at Juliette Falls Golf Course.
