The Ball State men's basketball team will get a second look at one of the top teams in the Mid-American Conference Saturday at Worthen Arena.
The Cardinals host Bowling Green lead in the second game of a men's women's doubleheader (he women's team also plays Bowling Green at 2 p.m.). The Falcons (16-6, 8-3 MAC) share the overall conference lead.
Ball State (7-15, 2-9 MAC) held a halftime lead on Bowling Green when the teams met last month, but the Falcons came back for a 58-46 win on their home floor.
Bowling Green's only three conference losses have come to the other teams tied for first in the league: Akron (twice) and Toledo. The Falcons are the stingiest defense in the league, allowing fewer than 60 points per game.
Ball State is coming off a 75-63 loss Wednesday at Northern Illinois. The Cardinals led for much of the opening half, but a 70-percent shooting performance by the Huskies in the second half was too much to overcome.
It has been more difficult for the Cardinals to limit opposing offenses in recent weeks with senior center Matt Kamieniecki sidelined. Ball State's best post defender has missed the past two games and four of the past six with a bad back.
Bo Calhoun continued his strong play with 13 points against Northern Illinois, while Jeremiah Davis also had 13. Franko House scored 10 to reach double figures for the fourth straight game.
Zavier Turner led Ball State with 14 points in the first meeting with Bowling Green this season, while Zack Denny scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Falcons.
