A Look at the Cardinals
• Ball State will close out the non-conference portion of its schedule this week with home games against Alabama A&M and Chicago State. The Cardinals are back in Muncie after a loss Dec. 22 at Indiana State that marked the team's only road contest in a nine-game stretch.
• After playing nine games in the first 23 days of the season, Ball State's schedule has slowed down considerably during the month of December. The Cardinals' only game in the 16 days leading up to Tuesday's meeting with Alabama A&M was the Dec. 22 contest at Indiana State.
• At 7-4 so far this season, the Cardinals are off to their best start through 11 games since the 2011-12 team started 7-4.
• Ball State checks in at No. 187 in the latest Ken Pomeroy rankings. The Cardinals have been as high as No. 156 this season, marking their best ranking since January 2012.
• Ball State ranks third in the MAC and 39th nationally in scoring defense, allowing 63.7 points per game. The Cardinals have surrounded 70 points in a game only three times all season, although the past two opponents have reached that mark.
• Senior forward Franko House has reached double-figure scoring in nine of Ball State's 11 games and 20 of the past 23 dating back to last season.
• House, senior forward Bo Calhoun and junior forward Ryan Weber have each surpassed the 500-point mark for their careers this season.
