November 07, 2014 | Field Hockey
MUNCIE, Ind. –The Mid-American Conference revealed its postseason award-winners for the 2014 field hockey season Thursday afternoon. The honors included All-MAC First and Second Teams, along with Freshman and Coach of the Year, topped off by the announcement of Player of the Year.
Ball State's junior midfielder Bethany Han was the lone Cardinal to be named to the All-MAC Second Team, after registering a six goal season. The Lititz, Pa. native also completed the season by tallying three assists and 12 shots on goal.
“Bethany Han was instrumental in our attack,” Ball State field hockey head coach Beth Maddox said. “She improves as the game goes on and we look to her to lead our attack.”
Han was aggressive offensively early on in the season when she scored two goals against Appalachian State on Sept. 1. She then ultimately saw action in 15 of the Cardinals' 16 games throughout the season.
Kent State's senior Hannah Faulkner was named the 2014 MAC Player of the Year, while Central Michigan's Cristy Freese earned the title of Coach of the Year.
