Men's Basketball: Alstork Emerging
January 22, 2014 | Men's Basketball
Mark Alstork is one of four freshmen who have played key roles this season for the Ball State men's basketball team. The Dayton, Ohio, product does a little bit of everything for the Cardinals and has emerged as more of a scorer over the past month.
Alstork was inserted into the starting lineup eight games ago and has been there every game since. He is averaging 8.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game, having scored in double figures seven times in Ball State's 15 games.
Joel Godett examines Alstork's development from his days at Dayton's Thurgood Marshall High School to today, finding that hard work and a competitive spirit have been driving forces behind his growth.
Alstork and the Cardinals will host Buffalo at 8 p.m. Thursday at Worthen Arena as Mid-American Conference play continues.
