March 07, 2013 | Men's Basketball
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Riding a hot streak, the Ball State men's basketball team enters the final weekend of the regular season with a chance for a first-round bye in the Mid-American Conference Tournament.
The Cardinals can still earn anywhere from the No. 5 through the No. 8 seed based on the outcome of this weekend's games. Ball State would get a bye as the No. 5 seed. The Cardinals would host a first-round game Monday as the No. 6, 7 or 8 seed.
A Ball State win Saturday over Northern Illinois coupled with a Buffalo loss Friday at Bowling Green would secure the No. 5 seed for the Cardinals.
A Buffalo victory on Friday would give the Bulls the No. 5 seed. Ball State would then host a first-round home game at 7 p.m. Monday at Worthen Arena.
Ball State's final regular-season game will be played Saturday at 2 p.m. at Worthen Arena. It will be Senior Day as the Cardinals honor Jauwan Scaife and Zach Fields.
