
Women's Tennis Takes Down UW-Milwaukee, 5-2

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team claimed a 5-2 victory over Wisconsin-Milwaukee Saturday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. With the win the Cardinals remain undefeated with a 3-0 overall mark while UW-Milwaukee falls to 1-1.
The Cardinals took the doubles point from the Panthers to give BSU the early 1-0 advantage heading into singles play. The twosome of Courtney Wild and Bethany Moore defeated Kelly Fritz and Dana Shannon at No. 2 doubles by a score of 8-3. Ashlyn Rang paired up with Kristel Sanders for the 8-3 victory over Brittany Skemp and Kristin Kurer at the No. 3 spot.
In singles action, Wild beat Fritz 6-0, 6-3 at the No. 2 position. On court three Earnest defeated Bailey 6-2, 6-1 while teammates Moore and Rang were also winners in their respective positions.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues non-conference action when it takes on Big Ten foe Michigan State in East Lansing, Mich. Sunday at Noon.
