Women's Tennis Loses 6-1 at Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Ball State women's tennis team (3-1) dropped a 6-1 decision to Michigan State (4-0) in East Lansing Sunday afternoon.
The Spartans took the early 1-0 advantage over the Cardinals after sweeping doubles action. At No. 2 doubles, Courtney Wild and Bethany Moore came up short only losing by two (8-6) to Nicole Herzog and Katarina Lingl.
Courtney Earnest highlighted singles action for the Cardinals after her 6-2, 6-2 defeat over Olga Chernova at the No. 3 spot. Wild, Moore and Sanders all took the Spartans to three sets but lost in their respective positions.
The Ball State women's tennis team will continue non-conference action when it plays in Dayton, Ohio next Friday as it faces Wright State at 11 a.m. and then Dayton in the afternoon match which will begin at 2 p.m.
