August 27, 2012 | Men's Basketball
The 6-foot-9, 235-pound Majok (pronounced muh-ZHUK) has two years of eligibility remaining after playing his first two seasons at Midland College in Texas. He was recently rated as the No. 18 junior college prospect in the country by JucoJunction.com.
"We are very excited to have Majok joining our program," Ball State coach Billy Taylor said. "He achieved a high level of success in junior college on both a team and personal level. His maturity, athleticism and size will be a tremendous asset to our program."
Majok was part of Midland's NJCAA Division I national runner-up team as a freshman in 2010-11 and was an all-conference selection in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference as a sophomore in 2011-12. During that sophomore campaign last season, he averaged 10.8 points per game and led Midland with 7.5 rebounds per contest and a .552 shooting percentage.
Originally from the Sudan, Majok lived in Perth, Australia, before coming to the United States. He played at Northfield Mount Hermon School in Massachusetts, where he helped his team to the finals of the prep school national tournament in the 2009-10 season before heading to Midland.
