Men?s S&D Named A CSCAA Scholar All America Team

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's swimming & diving team has been honored as a Spring 2012 Scholar All America Team as announced by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
The Cardinals finished the 2012 spring semester with a 3.04 team grade-point average to rank 62nd among the 74 teams posting at least a 3.00 GPA.
Ball State was the third-highest ranked school from the state of Indiana, following Notre Dame (3.23 / 23rd) and Evansville (3.10 / 49th). All seven Mid-American Conference men's swimming and diving programs were on list, led by Southern Illinois (3.18 / 31st).
In Thomas' 33-years as head coach, the Cardinals have been named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Team in all but one semester he has coached. In addition, the women's squad picked up the award each semester he was co-head coach of the program from 2004-05 through 2008-09.
The CSCAA presents the Team Scholar All America award to college and university swimming and diving teams who achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
