COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Ball State baseball team suffered a 15-5 loss Saturday afternoon to Big 12 member Missouri at Taylor Stadium to even the three-game series. The two teams will play the rubber game of the series Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. (CT).
Freshman left-hander Nestor Bautista (New York, N.Y./George Washington) suffered his second loss of the season as he allowed five runs on one hit while walking three batters without recording an out. Bautista was coming off a career-best 7.0 shutout innings last weekend when he held UAB to just two hits while striking out seven.
Missouri (3-5) jumped out to a 10-0 lead after five innings as it scored five runs in the first, one in the second, three in the third and one in the fifth. Missouri starter Rob Zastryzny worked the first five 5.1 innings without allowing a hit.

Freshman Brandon Estep (Selma, Ind./Wapahani) recorded the Cardinals' first hit with a one-out single to put two aboard. Sophomore Cody Campbell (Muncie, Ind./Cowan) ripped a two-run triple to get BSU on the board before Billy Wellman (Portland, Ind./Jay County) followed with a run-scoring single to make it 10-3.
After Missouri scored five more in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Cardinals rounded out the scoring with two runs in the top of the eighth inning. Wellman picked up his second RBI of the afternoon as he doubled to center field before the Cardinals took advantage of a Missouri error to score their final run of the afternoon.
Zastryzny improved to 1-1 on the season as he worked 6.0 innings and allowed three runs on three hits while striking out seven batters. Three Missouri pitchers combined to limit the Cardinals to just five hits one day after posting a season-high 13 hits.
