
Women's Tennis Loses 5-2 to Cleveland State

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University women's tennis team (4-3) dropped a 5-2 decision in dual action to Cleveland State Friday night at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
The Cardinals came out of the gates strong, as they won the doubles points to take an early 1-0 over the Vikings. At No. 1 doubles Courtney Wild paired up with Kristel Sanders to defeat Catrine Bjerrehus and Maria Lazaris by a score of 9-8 (4). On court two the duo of Ashley Rang and Sarah Hebble captured an 8-4 win over Alexandra Bush and Alex Power.
Cleveland State came back in singles action winning five of the six matches which allowed the Vikings to come away with the victory. Wild was the lone Cardinal to win her singles match on court one after her straight set defeat over Lazaris.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues spring action when it travels to Marquette Saturday, Feb. 24. The match is set to begin 5 p.m. (EST).
