Weber Named MAC Swimmer of the Week

MUNCIE, Ind. - Senior Michael Weber (Lorain, Ohio/Elyria Catholic) earned his first Mid-American Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week nod after his performance in the 169-93 defeat of Eastern Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 9.
Weber collected three individual victories at the meet and was a part of a winning relay team.
The senior swept the backstroke events, placing first in the 100 and 200 with times of 58.71 and 1:56.32 respectively. He also claimed a victory in the 200 IM, touching at 1:56.32.
Weber was a part of the winning 200 medley relay team, turning in a 24.69 split in the lead leg. He was followed by Joseph Morris (South Bend, Ind./Clay), Drew Tharp (Evansville, Ind./Reitz Memorial) and Michael Oaks (Franklin, Ind./Franklin Community) and the squad turned in a time of 1:36.35.
Weber and the Cardinals return to the pool this weekend as Ball State men's and women's swimming and diving host the ninth-annual Doug Coers Invitational at Lewellen Aquatics Center Friday, Nov. 16 and Saturday, Nov. 17. Check ballstatesports.com for more information about the meet.
