Field Hockey Drops League Contest 6-4 to Kent State

KENT, Ohio - The Ball State field hockey team fell to MAC foe Kent State, 6-4 Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals were able to put forth a balanced offensive effort.
"I was very proud of the team today," said head coach Beth Maddox. "They stuck to the game plan and fought together. They played with a lot of heart and to see them connect like they did was exciting."
The Golden Flashes got on the board early scoring two goals within the first 22 minutes of action. Freshman Allie White (Kettering, Ohio/Fairmont) netted a goal for the Cardinals in the 27th minute unassisted.
Tarel Teach (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) connected on the equalizer in the 37th minute off an assist from Bethany Han (Lititz, Pa./Warwick). Kent State would take the lead in the 43rd minute.
Senior Devon Bell (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) scored her first goal of the season in the 45th minute off an assist from Natalie Jardell (Granville, Ohio/Granville). The Golden Flashes would then score three goals before Jardell would score her goal in the 67th minute off an assist from Teach.
Shelby Henley (Novi, Mich./Novi) was credited with the loss after making four saves in one half of action. Maddi Elliott (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) made three saves.
