Men's Hoops Game At Ohio Tabbed For ESPNU Broadcast

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Mid-American Conference office announced Friday that the Ball State men's basketball game at Ohio Saturday, January 28 has been selected for an ESPNU broadcast as part of the conference's 21-day flex schedule package. Game time for the divisional contest is set for 11 a.m. at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio.
The Cardinals have posted an 8-4 mark in non-conference play, the best record in the MAC West Division, led by the top-rated defense in the league. Ball State owns the seventh best field goal percentage defense in NCAA Division I at 36.1 percent and the 15th best scoring defense at 56.9 points per game.
The Cardinals are paced offensively by preseason All-MAC West selection Jarrod Jones (Michigan City, Ind./Michigan City) who ranks second in the conference in both scoring (17.8) and rebounding (8.4).Ball State opens MAC play this weekend as it hosts preseason MAC West Division favorite Western Michigan Saturday at 2 p.m.
Ohio enters league play this weekend with the MAC's top record at 12-2, including a 7-1 mark at home. The Bobcats are led by preseason All-MAC East Division selection D.J. Cooper who averages 14.0 points per game and 6.4 assists per game. The Bobcats begin conference play Saturday as they travel to Bowling Green.
