Krupa Tallies Fourth Career MAC Swimming Accolade

MUNCIE, Ind. - Senior Chris Krupa (Indianapolis/Pike) has been named the Mid-American Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week after leading the Cardinals to a 181-87 victory versus the Eastern Illinois Redbirds Friday afternoon at Lewellen Aquatic Center.
Krupa tallied the honor for the fourth time in his career and the second time this season, having also earned the award (12/14) after leading the Cardinals versus the Michigan State Spartans, Saturday, December 10.
Ball State tallied its first victory in the 200 medley relay, as Krupa joined junior Michael Weber (Lorain, Ohio/Elyria Catholic) and seniors Gavin McNeeley (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester) and Casey Schroeder (Williamsport, Ind./Seeger Memorial) to clock in at 1:34.54. He then returned to post wins in the 200 fly (1:52.29), 100 fly (50.34) and 200 IM (1:58.38).
Against Michigan State, Krupa posted first-place efforts in the 200 fly (1:53.07) and 200 IM (1:57.70), and a third-place finish in the 100 fly (51.01). He also combined with Weber, McNeeley and Schroeder on the first-place 200 medley relay (1:34.71).
Krupa and the Cardinals return to action Sunday as Ball State heads to the Butler Invitational in Fishers, Ind. at noon.
