Women's Golf Finishes Third in Season Opener

Ball State's women's golf team, under the direction of seventh-year head coach Katherine Mowat, finished third at the Redbird Invitational at Weibring Golf Course in Normal, Ill.
The Cardinals managed a 300-308-320=928 to finish third behind Illinois State (917) and Southern Illinois (926). Ball State was the highest finishing team of the five Mid-American Conference schools at the event.
Freshman Jenna Hague was the top Ball State finisher with a third-place showing. Hague managed a 75-76-72=223 to lead the Cardinals.
Meghan Perry finished 15th after firing a 71-77-84=232. Katie Windlan tied for 24th with a 76-80-81=237, while Autumn Duke tied for 33rd after tallying a 78-75-86=239. Sarah Westaway tied for 63rd with a 79-86-83=248.
Jamie Caylor competed as an individual for the Cardinals and tied for 44th with an 85-79-79=243.
The tournament, which was hosted by Illinois State, included Bradley, Bowling Green, Dayton, Detroit Mercy, Drake, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, Illinois-Chicago, Illinois Wesleyan, Northern Illinois, Ohio, South Dakota State, Southern Illinois, Toledo and Western Illinois.
