Women?s Tennis Suffers 6-1 Loss to EMU

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Eastern Michigan Friday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. The match marked the first Mid-American Conference competition of the season.
With the loss the Cardinals fall to 6-9 overall and 0-1 in MAC action. BSU fell behind early to the Eagles after dropping the doubles point. The Ball State twosome of Dena Boulieris and Georgina Thomson won their match over Xu Change and Georgia de'Lisle-Tarr by a score of 8-2.
In singles action BSU dropped all but one of its matches, Kristel Sanders took down Miriam Westerink in two sets 6-4, 7-6 (0) at the No. 2 position.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues league action at home when it hosts Toledo Saturday at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center at 1 p.m.
