CLEVELAND, Ohio - Ball State junior forward Jarrod Jones (Michigan City, Ind./Michigan City) has been named to the Mid-American Conference All-Tournament Team for his efforts in leading the Cardinals to the semifinals of the 2011 MAC FirstEnergy Tournament last week. Jones becomes the first Cardinal since Theron Smith in 2002 to earn All-Tournament accolades.
Jones, a First Team All-MAC selection, averaged 15.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in the Cardinals' two games in Cleveland. He scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds in the quarterfinal victory over Ohio, including the game-winning basket in overtime with 59 seconds remaining.
Jones followed that performance up with his 11th double-double of the season against top-seeded Kent State as he scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. He connected on 9-of-15 from the field and was a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line in the Cardinals' semifinal loss.
Jones finished the season averaging a team-high 14.7 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. He connected on 50.7 percent (181-of-357) from the field on the year while averaging 29.5 minutes per game.
