Field Hockey Earns National Academic Team Award

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State Field Hockey team has been recognized as a 2010 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award recipient in being a top academic program, as announced Tuesday by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
In all, 57 Division I squads were recognized with the honor. Northwestern was the top performer with a 3.54 team GPA, while Central Michigan, Kent State and Miami (OH) joined Ball State as the Mid-American Conference institutions recognized.
Junior midfielders (Ballwin, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) and (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) led the squad off the field as the pair earned 2010 Field Hockey Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors.Devanny KuhnGretchen Lulow
The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2010-11 academic year.
