Men?s Swimming & Diving Hosts Doug Coers Invite

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's swimming & diving team will hosts the 2011 Doug Coers Invitational at Lewellen Aquatic Center.
The two-day event begins 6 p.m. Friday and continues 9 a.m. Saturday. Lewis University, Valparaiso, Findlay and Grand Valley will join Ball State. Last season, the Cardinals posted 22 top-three finishes, including wins in eight of the 20 events.
Ball State returns event winners from last season's meet in all four members of the 200 freestyle relay (1:26.95) in junior Michael Weber (Lorain, Ohio/Elyria Catholic) and seniors Tony DeBrota (Indianapolis/Pike), Chris Krupa (Indianapolis/Pike) and Casey Schroeder (Williamsport, Ind./Seeger Memorial).
Krupa returned in the 200 IM to earn first-place with a time of 1:56.29, while Schroeder took first in the 50 free, clocking in at 21.77.
Schroeder also joined Weber, senior Gavin McNeeley (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester) and Krupa as part of the first-place 400 medley relay (3:28.16) and 200 medley relay (1:36.44), while McNeeley garnered wins in the 100 breast (59.78) and 200 breast with a time of 2:11.73.
