Men's Golf Finishes Fifth at Cobra Puma Invitational

Ball State's men's golf team finished in fifth place out of 12 teams at the Cobra Puma Invitational at Miromar Lakes Golf Course in Fort Myers, Fla.
Ball State managed a 283-293-290=866, while Florida Gulf Coast won the tournament with an 853.
TJ Carpenter and Alex Stinson tied for 14th with tournament totals of 216. Carpenter managed a 72-74-70, while Stinson carded a 71-71-74.
Tony Lazzara tied for 29th with a 67-78-76=221, Tyler Merkel tied for 37th with an 81-73-70=224 and Joe Gasser also tied for 37th with a 73-75-76=224.
The Cardinals, ranked 28th in the nation in the latest Golfstat Poll, were joined at the tournament by Bethune Cookman, Cincinnati, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgetown, Loyola-Maryland, St. Joseph's (Pa.), Western Kentucky and the host, Xavier.
