MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State junior forward Jarrod Jones (Michigan City, Ind./Michigan City) has been named the Mid-American Conference Scholar Athlete of the Week (Dec. 27-Jan. 2) for the second time this season, the league office announced Friday.
Jones owns a 3.291 GPA as a telecommunications major and is joined by Bowling Green's Lauren Prochaska as this week's academic award winners. He earned his first MAC Scholar Athlete Award for his play the week of Dec. 6-12 when he led Ball State to wins over Eastern Illinois and DePaul.

He scored a career-high 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the Cardinals' win over North Carolina A&T. He connected on 7-of-13 from the field and hit 11-of-14 from the free throw line against the Aggies.
Jones scored a team-high 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds at Valparaiso to open the week. On the season, he is averaging 16.2 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per contest for the Cardinals.
