Men's S&D Honored As A Scholar All-American Team

MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State men's swimming & diving team has been honored as a 2010 Scholar All-American Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
"I am very proud of the determination our student-athletes show both in the classroom and in the pool," said head coach Bob Thomas. "To continually be one of the nation's top academic programs is a true point of pride for our program."
The Cardinals finished the 2010 spring semester with a 3.17 team grade-point average to rank as the 26th-best Division I institutions in the country. Ball State posted the second-highest GPA in the Mid-American Conference, trailing only Southern Illinois (3.2). BSU's team GPA was also the second-highest among Indiana schools, behind only Notre Dame (3.326).
The Ball State men's swimming & diving team also earned the award for the 2009 fall semester after posting a 3.17 team GPA during that grading period. The average was the highest in the league and the second-best among state schools, trailing only Notre Dame (3.20).
