
Women's Tennis Claims 5-2 Win At NIU

With the win Ball State improves to 7-9 overall and 1-2 in league action. This was the Cardinals first MAC win since they defeated NIU 6-1 at home in April of 2008.
The Cardinals took the early 1-0 edge after claiming the doubles point over the Huskies. The No. 1 doubles tandem of Kylee Johnson and Katherine Rist beat Brooke Forsberg and Emily Rogers by a score of 8-6. The Ball State duo of Sarah Hebble and Lauren Pickrel sealed the doubles win at No. 3 winning 8-5.
In singles action Hayley Hall, Johnson and Hebble all won in straight sets at the No. 1, No. 4 and No. 5 slots, respectively. Katherine Rist managed a three set upset over Martina Schnapp to seal the Cardinals victory after going up 6-4 she dropped the second set 1-6 and came back to take the match in the third game 6-0.
The Ball State University women's tennis team continues MAC action Saturday, April 10 against Miami at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center weather permitting.
