
Women's Tennis Sweeps Eastern Illinois

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University women's tennis team improved its overall record to 6-5 with a 7-0 sweep over Eastern Illinois Saturday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
The Cardinals took the early advantage over EIU after winning the doubles point. The No. 1 doubles tandem of Dena Boulieris and Sarah Hebble won a hard fought match 8-7 (5) over Merritt Whitley and Amanda Dibbs. Lauren Pickrel and Georgina Thomson captured an 8-4 victory at No. 2 and Katherine Rist and Kylee Johnson rounded out doubles with a an 8-6 win.
Ball State won all six of its singles matches. Hayley Hall beat Dibbs at No. 1 in two sets. Boulieris also won in two sets at No. 2 and Hebble defeated Annie Eagan 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5.
The Ball State University women's tennis team will play at DePauw Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
