
Women's Tennis Defeats Wisconsin-Green Bay 6-1

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University women's tennis team evened its overall record to 5-5 after capturing a 6-1 win over Wisconsin-Green Bay Friday evening at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
The Cardinals jumped ahead of the Pheonix early on in the match with a 1-0 advantage after winning the doubles point. The Ball State twosome of senior Katherine Rist along with teammate sophomore Kylee Jones defeated Jennifer Bradfield and Morgan Weuve 8-4 at No. 2 doubles. The freshmen doubles tandem of Paola Rodriguez and Annica Darud beat Laura Bartingale and Rebecca Nelson, 8-6.
Ball State won all but one of its singles matches on the day. Sophomore Sarah Hebble won first at No. 4 singles 6-3, 6-0 against Lauryn Grimando to put the Cardinals up 2-0. Johnson, Rist, sophomore Dena Boulieris and Pickrel were winners on the day in their respective spots.
The Ball State women's tennis team will be back in action at home against Eastern Illinois Saturday, March 6 at 1 p.m.
