Field Hockey Falls to Missouri State on the Road

At 4:20 mark, Missouri State's Reiann Stoute opened up a 3-0 run for the Bears on an unassisted shot into the left corner of the cage, her first goal of the season. Stoute scored a second at 16:43 mark past the Cardinals' junior goalkeeper Chelsea Mitchell (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico).
Lulow scored Ball State's lone goal of the day off a penalty corner at 33:53 mark, her fourth of the season. Junior midfielder Caitlin Maguire (Louisville, Ky./Presentation Academy) provided the assist.
Missouri State's Casey Bayliss scored the game's final goal at 47:52 mark.
Lulow finished the contest with eight shots, while junior midfielder Devanny Kuhn (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) tallied five shots. Senior forward Ellen Vonderbrink (Kettering, Ohio/Fairmont) and junior midfielder CJ Hermes (Louisville, Ky./Mercy Academy) each recorded one shot. Senior forward Maura Sawicki (St. Louis, Mo./Nerinx Hall) finished the game with a defensive save, her 10th on the season.
Mitchell tallied 12 saves in 70:00 minutes of action, while Missouri State's Steph Anderson recorded 10 in the cage.
Ball State returns to the BSU Turf Field Sunday to host non-conference foe Indiana in a game scheduled for 1 p.m.
