
Men's Golf Finishes Second at Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational

The Ball State men's golf team posted the best third round of the tournament to move into second place at its own Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational at Delaware Country Club in Muncie.
The Cardinals tallied a 289-284-283=856 to finish six strokes behind team champion Bowling Green and five strokes ahead of third place Cincinnati.
Anthony Novak was the top Ball State individual with a third place finish. Novak tallied a 72-71-69=212 to finish two over par in the event, and finish third out of 84 golfers. The 69 was a career low for Novak.
Ross Cosat tied for fourth after firing a 72-69-72=213 at the par-70 Delaware Country Club. Eric Skillman tied for eighth with a 69-70-76=215, Eric Steger managed a 76-74-68=218 to tie for 13th and freshman Alex Stinson carded a 76-75-74=225 to tie for 31st.
Ball State also played six players as individuals. Zac Henderson tied for 21st with a 74-77-70=221, Joe Gasser tied for 24th with a 72-78-72=222, Brodie Williams tied for 35th with a 73-78-73=224, Zac Treash tied for 45th with a 72-81-74=227, Tony Lazzara tied for 65th with a 76-82-77=235 and TJ Carpenter managed to tie for 76th with an 83-82-78=243.
Teams participating in the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational included Austin Peay, Ball State, Belmont, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, IPFW, IUPUI, Loyola-Chicago, Ohio, Valparaiso, Vincennes, Wright State and Youngstown State.
