Men's Golf Finishes Fifth at Xavier Invitational

Ball State's men's golf team finished in fifth place out of 12 teams at the Xavier Invitational at the Oasis Golf Club in Ohio.
The Cardinals managed a 292-293-278=863, while Akron won the event with an 849. Ball State finished ahead of Mid-American Conference opponents Bowling Green (7th, 874) and Ohio (10th, 878) at the tournament. Ball State's 278 in the final round was the lowest round of the tournament by any of the 12 teams.
Ball State's Ross Cosat is tied for sixth after carding a 74-67-70=211. Eric Steger tied for 15th with a 75-73-68=216, Alex Stinson tied for 34th after firing a 74-76-71=221.
Anthony Novak tied for 40th after tallying a 70-84-69=223, and Eric Skillman tied for 42nd with a 74-77-73=224.
Joe Gasser, who played as an individual, tied for 12th after shooting a 75-67-73=215, while Zac Treash also competed as an individual and managed a 78-74-80=232 to tie for 55th.
Joining the Cardinals at the event were Akron, Austin Peay, Bowling Green, Cleveland State, Dayton, DePaul, Eastern Kentucky, Marquette, Marshall, Ohio, Princeton and Xavier.
