CSCAA Honors Ball State Swimming & Diving Programs

MUNCIE, Ind. - The College Swimming Coaches Association of America has named both the Ball State men's and women's swimming & diving teams to its Division I Team Scholar All-American list for the 2009 spring semester. To be selected, a team must have a 3.0 grade-point average or better for the semester.
The Ball State men's squad finished the spring semester with a combined 3.17 GPA to rank first among the four Mid-American Conference men's programs. Overall, the men's squad tied for 21st on the 58-team list.
“Since academics is our number one priority, it is great to see our student-athletes achieve so well in the classroom,” said head men's swimming & diving coach Bob Thomas. “It is also an honor to achieve above the rest of our peers in the conference.”
The Ball State women's team finished the spring semester with a combined 3.30 GPA to rank third among the eight Mid-American Conference women's programs. Overall, the women's team placed 54th on the 110-squad list.
“I am really proud of the academic success of our women's swimmers and divers,” said head women's swimming & diving coach Laura Seibold-Caudill. “Their hard work and perseverance pays off in the classroom and the pool.
