Women's Golf Finishes 14th at Duramed Invitational

Ball State's women's golf team finished 14th out of 20 teams at the Duramed Collegiate Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz.
The Cardinals tallied a 311-313-313=937. Kansas won the event with an 883, while Arkansas-Little Rock was second with a 907.
Brittany Kelly was Ball State's top finisher with a tie for 42nd in the 102-player field. Kelly managed a 79-75-80 in the event. Rachael Pruett managed an 81-77 -78, while Kristtini Cain carded a 76-82-78. Pruett and Cain tied for 51st in the tournament.
Kirsty O'Connor led the Cardinals after a first round 75, and managed a 79-85 in the final two rounds. Sarah Windlan tallied an 82-83-77 for the tournament.
The event, which is hosted by Western Michigan, was in its seventh year and the Cardinals tied for ninth out of 18 teams a year ago.
Joining Ball State in this season's event were Akron, Arkansas-Little Rock, Bowling Green, Bradley, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Missouri State, Northern Arizona, Northwestern, Ohio, Southern Illinois, Toledo, Western Michigan, Wisconsin and Xavier.
The tournament was played at the Rio Verde Country Club's Quail Run Course and was set up to play to a par-71 at 6,260 yards.
