Women's Golf Finishes Second at Saluki Invitational

The Ball State women's golf team, under the direction of head coach Katherine Mowat, finished in second place at the 15-team Saluki Invitational. Kristtini Cain tied for third in the 15th annual tournament played at Hickory Ridge Golf Course.
The Cardinals shot a 321-313=634 to finish in second, four strokes behind Drake's 313-317=630.
Freshman Kristtini Cain led the Cardinals and tied for third in the tournament with a 76-79=155. Sophomore Brittany Kelly managed an 82-76=158 to tie for seventh at the event. Sophomore Rachael Pruett tied for 16th with an 85-76=161.
Paige Esford, a Ball State junior, carded an 84-82, senior Sarah Windlan tallied a 79-90 and junior Kirsty O'Connor managed an 86-86=172.
The 13 teams joining the host Salukis and Ball State were Austin Peay, Bradley, Creighton, Drake, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, IPFW, Indiana State, John A. Logan, Murray State, Rend Lake, SIU-Edwardsville, and Western Illinois.
Ball State will continue its spring season at the Indiana Invitational April 6-7 at Otter Creek Golf Club in Columbus, Ind.
