Men's Tennis Loses At Northwestern 6-1

Evanston, Ill. - The Ball State University men's tennis team (4-3) fell to Big Ten foe Northwestern (8-0) 6-1 Sunday afternoon at Combe Tennis Center.
The Cardinals came close to winning two doubles matches but dropped them both to Wildcats. The BSU twosome of sophomore Shaun Bussert and freshman Zane Smith lost 9-8 (7-5) to Andrew McCarthy and Alexander Thams. Sophomore Eduardo Pavia paired up with Andres Monroy but lost 9-7 to Alex Sanborn and Joshua Graves.
In singles action the lone Cardinal to win a match was Pavia who captured a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 victory over Tobias Reitz. With the win Pavia improved to 5-2 on the season.
The Ball State University men's tennis team hosts Valparaiso and Michigan State Saturday at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. The match against Michigan State begins at Noon followed by Valparaiso at 6 p.m.
