XC's Ali Bishel Named To All-MAC First Team

ATHENS, Ohio - - After placing fourth at the 2009 Mid-American Conference Championships, Ball State junior cross country runner Ali Bishel (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton H.S.) had been named to the All-MAC First Team. This is the second time Bishel has earned first team status in cross country during her career.
In last Saturday's 6K run at the Ohio University Gold Course in Athens, Ohio, Bishel posted a time of 22:33.0 to finish 14.8 seconds behind Toledo's Ari Fisher who won the event with a 22:18.8 clocking.
Bishel was also named to the All-MAC First Team after tuning in a second-place finish at the 2007 league meet with a time of 17:38.9 in a 5K run at Central Michigan's Riverwood Resort in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
Bishel and the Ball State Cross Country team returns to action Saturday, Nov. 14, at the 2009 NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by Indiana. The 6K women's meet is set to begin at 1:15 p.m. at the Indiana University Championship Cross Country Course in Bloomington, Ind.
