
Softball Falls To Ohio In MAC Opener

MUNCIE, Ind. ? The Ball State softball team fell to Ohio 10-6 in game one, and ended the day with a 2-0 loss.
The Cardinals took an early lead in game one after a three RBI triple to right field from Amber Wolf.
Ohio closed in on the lead by scoring two runs in the top of the third inning. The Bobcats tied the game in the bottom of the third, and took full control with a seven-run fourth inning.
Ohio recorded seven hits in the fourth inning including back to back doubles by Kristen Salvatore and Melissa Bonner.
Jen Moore led the Cardinal attack in the bottom of the sixth inning by hitting a two RBI double to left center, but it wasn't enough as Ball State fell to the Bobcats 10-6.
Elizabeth Milian took the loss on the mound for BSU. Laura Masch came in for Milian in the fourth inning to finish the game. Masch only allowed three hits, and did not issue a walk.
Ohio's Emily Wethington shut down Ball State in game two. The Cardinals were limited to two hits. Wethington threw a complete game and recorded six strikeouts.
Amanda Pick hit a double in each game giving her a total of five this season.
Tiffany Garofano took the loss for Ball State in game two. Garofano also threw a complete game and only allowed three hits. She recorded six strikeouts giving her 85 on the year.
Ball State will look to bounce back tomorrow when they host the Akron Zips at 2:00 p.m.
