Men's Golf Top MAC School and Sixth Overall at Xavier Invitational

The Ball State men's golf team finished sixth out of 20 teams at the Xavier Invitational, and placed higher than all of the Mid-American Conference schools at the event held at the Oasis Golf Club in Loveland, Ohio.
The Cardinals managed scores of 293-279-294=866, while Eastern Kentucky won the tournament with an 846.
Ball State was the top Mid-American Conference team at the tournament, placing ahead of Akron (9th), Bowling Green (11th tie), Toledo (11th tie) and Ohio (17th).
Ball State was led by Brian Maurer, who managed a 72-71-71 to tie for 19th. Eric Steger tallied a 72-74-73 and tied for 34th in the event. Ross Cosat and Andrew Rhodes tied for 52nd, while Matt Schumaker managed a tie for 74th. Cosat carded a 76-68-78, Rhodes managed an 82-68-72 and Schumaker tallied a 73-72-82.
Anthony Novak competed as an individual for the Cardinals and tied for 13th with a 71-71-70.
