Cross Country Heads To Notre Dame Friday

The Ball State women's cross country team will travel to South Bend, Ind. to compete in the 52nd running of the Notre Dame Invitational. The meet will be held at the nine-hole Notre Dame Golf Course on the Notre Dame campus on Friday afternoon.
The Notre Dame Invitational is one of the nation's oldest and largest intercollegiate cross country meets. It began in 1956 by former Notre Dame coach Alex Wilson and has been continuously running ever since.
The meet combines two divisions of both men's and women's teams. Ball State will compete in the women's Gold Division which kicks off at 2 p.m. The men's Gold Division race starts at 2:45 p.m., respectively followed by the Blue Division women's and men's races at 4:15 p.m. and 5 p.m. Admission for the meet is free to the public.
Ali Bishel has been the leader of this young team with a second place finish at the Indiana Intercollegiates, and fifth place finish at the Indiana Invitational.
A list of entrants for the Notre Dame Invitational is available at the bottom of this release. Final results from the meet will be posted on www.ballstatesports.com after the completion of the races.
