Peyton Stovall Speaks At IHSAA Student Leadership Conference
June 19, 2007 | Men's Basketball
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Peyton Stovall, a senior member of the Ball State men's basketball team, was one of several featured speakers Tuesday at the fourth annual Indiana High School Athletic Association Student Leadership Conference held at Carmel High School.
Stovall joined Chris Taylor, BSU's Director of Athletics Communications and Marketing, as speakers during the day's three breakout sessions.
"Today was a great day," Stovall said. "Being a former Indiana high school athlete, I have so many fond memories of my experiences.
"It was special to be able to share some of my experiences, answer questions and hopefully give a little guidance to all the student-athletes at the conference. We had a good time and met a lot of new friends."
The 2007 IHSAA Student Leadership Conference ranks as the largest one-day state athletic association student leadership conference in the country.
More than 840 student-athletes attended Tuesday's conference to promote the important qualities of leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship and commitment.
Stovall's topic included information on the demands and expectations of being a Division I student-athlete, while both Stovall and Taylor presented topics on media relations and the student athlete, plus marketing and promotions.
