
Cardinals Reach 20 Wins

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Ball State softball team picked up their 20th win of the season by defeating the Butler Bulldogs 3-1.
Junior Abby Gross blasted her seventh home run of the season against the Bulldogs in the sixth inning. The solo home run gives Gross 14 in her career, increasing her BSU record.
Allie Pennock with 2-for-2 and was walked twice. Pennock recorded her 11th RBI of the season and stole two bases taking the Ball State season total to 118.
In the third inning Pennock singled up the middle to score Kamilah Holle.
The next Ball State run came in the fifth inning as Taylor Yancey hit a sacrifice fly to allow Alisha Etzler to score.
The solo home run by Gross gave Ball State a 3-0 advantage.
Butler had the bases loaded in the sixth inning and scored a run as Elizabeth Milian hit Annie Dolan allowing Joanna Zumbrun to score Butler's only run of the game.
Milian picked up her 12th win of the season. Milian threw a complete game and only allowed four hits while striking out six.
Ball State will host Purdue April 25 in a doubleheader with game one scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
